The cross-city marathon: one long night stitching north heritage, central giants and the southern and eastern showstoppers into a single circuit.
Best time: A full night, starting late afternoon

The order follows walking proximity, not live traffic.
The biggest pandals draw hour-long queues after dark. Reach the marquee names by early evening, then wander the smaller ones as the crowd thickens.
You will be on your feet for hours across a few kilometres. Carry water, a little cash for the stalls, and skip the heavy bag.
Big pandals run one-way through a barricaded lane. Join the line, keep moving, and do not stop for a photo mid-stream. The darshan is quick by design.
The street food is half the pilgrimage: kathi rolls, phuchka, ghugni, biryani and mishti at every turn. Pace yourself so you last the circuit.
