Panchami to Dashami, 15 to 21 October 2026. What people do on each day, and when to turn up for it.
15Thursday · Oct ’26
The eve. The big pandals open, the lights come on, and the city walks out for the first night of pandal hopping.
16Friday · Oct ’26
The protima's face is unveiled and the four days begin.
17 & 18Saturday, Sunday · Oct ’26
The kola bou is taken to the river at first light, and the first anjali of Pujo follows.
19Monday · Oct ’26
The biggest day. Anjali in the morning, Sandhi puja with its 108 lamps, and dhunuchi naach as the dhak peaks at dusk.
20Tuesday · Oct ’26
The last full day. Bhog is at its most generous, and the city stays out until dawn.
21Wednesday · Oct ’26
Sindoor khela, then the processions to the ghats, and Subho Bijoya with sweets.
The dates are the ones the committees' own posters print for 2026. Hours differ from pandal to pandal: a pandal's page carries its anjali and bhog times where the committee has told us.
